Blog as Usual … Almost

Anyway, a big change to Siuyeh.com is that I’ve successfully (sort of) transferred my blog from wp.com, which is the free blogging platform within the Wordpress server to wp.org, and that is where you have to find your own hosting company, but you get more control over your blog in terms of design, plug-ins and well, just about everything. You take some, you give some.
Even though the Wordpress team makes it extremely easy for anyone wanting to making the transfer to .org, but for someone who’s usually technologically challenged like me, this transition hasn’t been easy. For one, I didn’t know you needed independent hosting. Having found out, I wanted to be all cool and go with Amazon Web Services, but cloud computing is like 10 years ahead of me. I pretty much stopped after tripping on the word “instance”. I still don’t understand what instances are. Tell me Jeff Bezo. And make AWS as easy to use as cpanels!
Anyway, as you can see, the blog is still a little buggy and I realized I lost all my Chinese characters. I wonder if a Chinese language plug-in would save me from the question marks that replaced all my Chinese. Let’s hope so.
Categories are all messed up and none of the links work too!!! ARgh! (FIXED)
