Unfaithful Tiger Wood Gatorade
Police in America were today investigating how a batch of bootleg energy drinks with labels poking fun at Tiger Woods’ “indiscretions” had hit supermarket shelves.
Shoppers in Safeway and King Soopers stores across Denver last week began noticing hundreds bottles of energy drink Gatorade had been tampered with.
The bottles feature an altered label with the word “Unfaithful” instead of the brand’s usual slogan “Focus” along with wife Elin Nordegren.
Gatorade had been one of Woods’ major sponsors, but ended their endorsement of the golf star in December after news broke of his alleged affairs with more than a dozen women.
The drinks company have been forced to issue a statement over the prank, confirming that the labels were fake and had not been printed by the company.
Police say they are unsure how the bootleggers were able to sneak the product into the shipments, but it is understood the label tampering was the work of a local artist as part of a “pop art” project.
“He doesn’t want to be contacted,” a friend of the unnamed artist said. “He want to remain anonymous because there are similar future projects in the works.”
